Earlier in 2024, Nintendo announced Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the mobile spin-off of the popular Animal Crossing life simulation series, would be shuttered on November 28, 2024, seven years after its initial release in 2017.
At the time, Nintendo also revealed a premium version of Pocket Camp was in the works that would allow players to carry over their save data from the free version of Pocket Camp into a new experience. Now, we know more details about this premium version of the game, including its release date and price.
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete will be released on mobile devices on December 2, 2024 for an introductory price of $9.99. After purchasing the game, players will be able to bring over their progress from the original Pocket Camp and continue playing where they left off. The game’s price will increase to $19.99 on January 30, 2025.
Pocket Camp Complete won’t offer in-app purchases or subscriptions, and it also won’t require players to have an internet connection. Players won’t be able to visit other players’ campsites or send their friends gifts as they are currently able to in the free version of the game.
While Pocket Camp Complete will lack some features of the original experience, it will also gain new ones to replace them. Players will have access to Camper Cards that they can customize and trade with others through a QR code. The Whistle Pass area will also be added to the game, allowing players to experience different activities with their friends, like “live music performances.”
Finally, Pocket Camp Complete will still offer monthly and seasonal events, such as fishing tournaments, scavenger hunts, and garden events.
