Following the recent story and character introduction, Activision has now dropped a gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies’ Terminus map. In it, we get a look at some exciting (and hideous) new additions to the game mode.

The Terminus map, which features the former members of the CIA-led Requiem team, is set in a remote complex on Terminus Island, five years after the events of Cold War Zombies. And plenty of changes to gameplay have arrived with that time jump.

As detailed in an extensive Call of Duty blog post, the entire round-based experience has been given an upgrade – including your enemies. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 gameplay trailer reveals numerous Dead Space-like horrors that you’ll be facing during your time on Terminus Island. Whether it’s the spider-like monsters called Vermin, or the enlarged zombified flies called Parasites, these new additions to the undead hordes are truly gross. But they’re just the small fry.

The true horrors of Terminus are the new Amalgams. These terrifying stitched masses of body parts and gore have plenty of heads and limbs with which to hunt you down. They’re a foe likely to scare even the biggest horror enthusiasts. If you’re a fan of games like Dead Space and Evil Within, you should feel (uncomfortably) at home when facing them.

Fortunately, you’ll get to wield the power of the Mangler zombie to take on the new enemy types. Thanks to a new Support Equipment called the Mutant Injection, you can transform into what is effectively a scary version of Fallout’s Power Armor, charging down hordes of undead and saving your precious ammo.

It’ll be a long wait until Black Ops 6’s release date in October 2024 before Zombies fans can dive into Terminus, but before then there’s the Black Ops 6 multiplayer betas in August, and a further Zombies gameplay trailer showing the Liberty Falls map set to debut during Call of Duty Next on August 28.
