Activision has released the debut trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, introducing the leading characters and the setting for the first map, Terminus.
As revealed in a new blog post, the latest undead adventure continues the series’ Dark Aether storyline. Five years after the undead incursions during the Cold War, former members of the CIA-led Requiem team are released from a prison called Terminus. A lot has changed, but even though we don’t see any in the trailer, it’s clear that zombies will still need slaying.
Black Ops 6 Zombies maps
The first map for Black Ops 6 Zombies looks to be Terminus, a prison complex island in the Philippine Sea on which the former Requiem members were being held. We’re also given a hint as to a second location in West Virginia, Liberty Falls, where another outbreak is said to be taking place.
From the brief cinematic and story synopsis we’ve received so far, the Terminus location is giving strong Mob of the Dead vibes. Two versions of the fan-favorite map based on the infamous Alcatraz prison were included in Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 4. They leave a high bar for this new prison map to meet.
Black Ops 6 Zombies characters
In the upcoming Terminus map, players will take on the roles of Requiem crew members (and their rescuers). The team has spent half a decade behind bars following their arrest from the Project Director – none other than Richtofen, a member of the original Zombies crew. They're broken out by Dr. William Peck and a Filipina smuggler named Maya Aguinaldo who is looking for her brother.
Confirmed Terminus Black Ops 6 Zombies characters so far include:
- Grigori Weaver
- Mackenzie “Mac” Carver
- Dr. Elizabeth Grey
- Maya Aguinaldo
- Stoney “Raptor One” Maddox
- Oskar Strauss
- Dr. William Peck
Zombies isn’t listed as featured in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta, but fans of shambling, rotting corpses won’t need to wait long to learn more. An “extensive” information drop for Black Ops 6 Zombies is due to be released on August 8 at 8 a.m. PT. It promises to include “an in-depth gameplay overview, information about your pre-match preparation options, full details on Round-Based Zombies gameplay, and a bestiary of the undead.”
