Capcom has announced Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, a remake of the original time-ticking, zombie-juking mall explorer updated for "the newest generation of platforms".

DRDR will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC on September 19 as a digital-only purchase, with a physical boxed release coming sometime in November. While we're unsure of the release date, we do have this teaser trailer showcasing photojournalist and famed war correspondent Frank West's brutal new widow's peak hairline.

The original Dead Rising received a remastering in 2016, but this Deluxe version appears to bear some of the hallmarks of being completely remade in Capcom's RE Engine. It would certainly benefit from some of the zombie behavior and swarming technology recent Capcom games have perfected with the engine.

The series has remained dormant since 2016, which also saw the release of Dead Rising 4, a somewhat failed attempt to return the story to Frank West's capable hands. Unfortunately, from the sounds of the trailer, Frank's original voice actor, Terence J. Rotolo, has still not returned to his iconic first role as the character.

Only one question remains for those of us who spent much more than just 72 hours uncovering the truth in Willamette Parkview Mall: Will walking into the courtyard remind us that he ain't my boy, but the brother is heavy?
