One final open beta will run ahead of the Early Access launch.

tinyBuild will launch Duckside in Early Access on Steam on September 25, 2024, giving players the opportunity to test their survival skills in a world populated by ducks.

Duckside describes itself in an interesting way on Steam: “Imagine DayZ or Rust but you’re a duck.” The survival game will allow players to collect resources, construct a base, craft weapons and tools, and, of course, eliminate rival ducks using a variety of weapons. Players can also team up to survive together as a band of feathered friends.

As tinyBuild looks forward to the game’s Early Access launch, one final open beta will run from September 12-17, 2024, allowing players to see some of the new items and changes that have been implemented in response to player feedback. This includes changes to resource balancing and the addition of night-vision goggles, a mixing table, new weapons (traps, axes, and landmines), and colorblind profiles to the experience.

Here are some of the other changes and additions players will see once Duckside is in Early Access:

  • Desert and snow biomes
  • Updated duck animations
  • An “extra-large furnace”
  • A distillery
  • A recipe for molotov cocktails
  • A new bazooka weapon (this will replace the game’s existing grenade launcher)
  • Platforms on the water’s surface where players can collect supplies
  • Improvements to the game’s human NPCs (according to tinyBuild, they’ll be “smarter, faster to act and more aggressive.”)
