Family-friendly game publisher Outright Games has released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed on consoles and PC. The beat-em-up and platforming video game continues the storyline from the 2023 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

In Mutants Unleashed, players will help Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael complete missions after an influx of mutants (called Mewbies) begin causing trouble around New York City. All four turtles are playable characters, with each being equipped with their signature weapon and having different abilities.

During missions, players can mash the attack button to defeat enemies or take a more skill-based approach, blocking and countering to deal damage while protecting the turtles from harm. Players will earn experience points over time (including by picking up VHS tape collectibles), which they can spend on skill trees to unlock new abilities and passive bonuses for the turtles.

While the base of each skill tree is available at the beginning of the game, players can unlock access to additional skills by having conversations with key story characters, like Splinter. The turtles’ stats, like their health and damage output, can also be upgraded by gathering vials of ooze during missions.

As players complete missions or have long conversations, in-game time will pass. Certain missions have due dates, so players will need to keep track of the calendar to make sure they finish these tasks in time.

Mutants Unleashed can be played solo or with a second player through local co-op. Check out some single-player gameplay in our video below to see Mutants Unleashed in action.
