The pumpkin horde has unleashed its arsenal, bringing Halloween events and updates with zombies, witches, and copious orange vegetation to our favorite games. Fortnite, Call of Duty, Pikmin Bloom, and more – nowhere is safe from their gourdy onslaught! The only path forward is to join them. So if you’re looking to indulge in the spooky spirit this October, here are the in-game events we’ve seen announced so far for Halloween 2024.
Apex Legends - Techno Terror
- Duration: Oct 15 - Nov 4
Trick N’ Treat Duos is back in Apex Legends alongside the Techno Terror Collection Event. The mode features candy to munch for a boost, Cyber Rev shell grenades to take out your rivals, Copycat Kits that will let you steal the abilities of other Legends, and revivals to get your partner back in the fight. E-District has been shifted to night time, and there are 24 limited-time cosmetics to earn, including Legendary skins for Alter, Wattson, and others. Black Desert - Ghost of Ash Forest

The Black Desert Halloween event for 2024 introduces Volkras to monster zones. Take them out to earn event-specific rewards. In addition, head to the Black Spirit to take on the Find the Real Spook quest. This sees you trying to find a spook which has hidden in Heidel as another monster. Complete it to earn 20 Benighted Badges. Full details here.
Call of Duty: Warzone / Modern Warfare 3 - The Haunting 2024

In typical fashion for Call of Duty these days, The Haunting 2024 is packed full of official collaborations. The trailer for the event shows off Halloween’s Michael Myers, Trick R Treat’s Sam, Terrifier’s Art the Clown, and the unsettling grin from the Smile movies slapped onto Makarov and Valeria. All of those are packed into Season 6.
The Haunting 2024 brings a bloody lick of paint to Modern Warfare 3’s maps, including the new Drive Thru and Mad Cow maps. Infection mode allows you to fend off the undead or take down human players with claws and throwing knives. One player starts as the infected, then attempts to convert everyone else to their team with a spot of friendly clawing. Hordepoint adds zombies to the standard Hardpoint mode, forcing you to fend off other players and the undead whenever you control a point.

Over in Warzone, tentacles have broken out across Rebirth Island for the Hellspawn map variant. The scares are packed into the Purgatory mode, which features eight challenges building up to unlock the Cloud Watching camo. Explore the island in this limited-time mode to discover portals, deadly Terriballs, and the undead. Hide in safe zones whenever you need a break from combat. Full details here.

DC Universe Online - Witching Hour

DC Universe Online is offering the chance to unlock mummy, candy, and pumpkin designs courtesy of the Witching Hour and Midnight Masquerade events. You'll need to head to the House of Legends each day to activate your Witching Hour missions, including a vampire bat race around Gotham City! All in the name of earning some Spooky Bites to spend. Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight's Halloween event for 2024 brings another new wave of cosmetics to earn or buy, as well as login rewards each day. Haunted by Daylight sees the Void Realm bleed into regular match levels, with hooks and generators changing their look. Locate Void Pumpkins and you can stop them for a chance to gain Haste or Hindered, but also because doing so will secure you a trove of Bloodpoints.
Save up Void Energy and you can open a rift to the Void Realm proper. A good place to escape the Killer, unless they come in after you... Void Stations allow survivors to craft obscuring Void Crystals, while the Killer can gain the Captured Haunt projectile. Complete challenges and you can spend Dark Trinkets on cosmetics during the event.
Duckside - Nights of the Living Duck
Made-for-mallards persistent-world survival game Duckside is running a special Halloween event which introduces malevolent spirits to bases. Fortunately you can now stay hidden from ghosts and other players with new sneaking mechanics. There are also new spooky Halloween decorations and hats including pumpkins, tombstones, and skull lamps to craft and equip. Humans are also now glow in the dark, which should make targeting them a touch easier at night. Full details here.
Dungeons & Dragons Online - The Night Revels

D&D Online takes an unconventional approach to Halloween this year with the Shop till You Drop dungeon which sees you wading through shambling consumers. Head to Delera's Graveyard to try and obtain the Night Revels Key needed for access. There are plenty of themed cosmetics to unlock during the event, including a feathered cape and pumpkin orb. Dying Light 2 - Tower Raid: Halloween Run
- Duration: Until Nov 20
Dying Light 2's Tower Raid mode returns with a spooky splash of paint. Join forces with your friends and attempt to scale each floor of the tower, facing fearsome pumpkin-headed monstrosities in enjoyably themed environments. There are eight floors to conquer with a boss to tackle on top. To boost your chances, you'll get to play as one of four themed classes: Scarecrow, Plague, Van Aiden, and Cursed Pirate. There are roguelike elements incorporated via perks from Baka, so expect numerous runs to be needed before you reach the top and secure your rewards.
Forewarned - Halloween Event 2024

Mejai meddling co-op horror game Forewarned has festooned its lobby space with Halloween decorations and activated a series of challenges for players to take on. Banish every Mejai during October and you can secure the Thoth mask cosmetic. The events from 2022 and 2023 are active as well, letting players catch up on their pumpkin hunts and other activities to secure the Anubis and Horus Masks.
Fortnite - Fortnitemares 2024 / Brick or Treat

Fortnitemares 2024 brings four main focal points of terror. First up are explosive weapons like the Saw-inspired Boom Billy and a Chainsaw perfect for carving enemies and pumpkins. They join classic Halloween weapons like the pumpkin launcher and Witch Broom. Second, players can now find Billy Puppets on TV monitors across the island. Interacting with one will put you in a duel with another player doing the same elsewhere! Third, Horde Rush mode returns with new quests to complete, so take on those cube monsters and earn high scores! Finally, the shop will play host to a range of horrors. Here's what you'll find during Fortnitemares: Billy the Puppet, Pumpkin King, Sally, Mephisto, Edward Scissorhands, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, Captain Hook, She-Venom, Agony, Leatherface, and Ravemello. Over in Lego Fortnite, the latest update brings terrifying new co-op capabilities courtesy of split-screen support. The Brick or Treat event pass adds a number of creepy constructions, including the Dump on Old Durrr Drive build at the end. The premium pass includes several spooky decor bundles and builds, and buying it will unlock the Andy Fangerson Outfit. In addition, the Halloween Town Hall bundle is available in the store.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 - Harvest of Ghosts

Hunt: Showdown 1896’s Harvest of Ghosts event introduces the story of a hunter called Harvest, and he brings new toys for you to tangle with. Earning Event Points during Harvest of Ghosts will unlock new weapons and equipment including the Bomb Launcher, Dark Dynamite Satchel, and a double-barrelled shotgun with a bludgeon attached. Sealed Rewards are also hidden around each level. Grab them to secure Pledge Marks and gain one of three Pacts. The Wilderness Pact increases mobility, the Pact of Omens grants sharpened senses, and the Smugglers Pact lets you gear up with heavier firepower and get around more quickly.
In addition to Harvest of Ghosts, Hunt: Showdown 1896 is also running the limited-time Bounty Clash mode from October 16 - 20, and then every weekend during the Harvest of Ghosts event. This quick mode spawns players in a random compound with a dead boss to deal with before the other teams. Act fast if you want to claim that bounty!
Overwatch 2 - Halloween Terror 2024

Halloween Terror 2024 brings the new Junkenstein's Laboratory mode to Overwatch 2. It's a PvP team deathmatch mode which adds ability-altering cursed talent cards, ramping up the chaos factor in every match. The usual Junkenstein's Revenge and Wrath of the Bride modes also return, with the older modes sticking around for the full season. Official details can be found here.
Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis - Halloween Festivities

Free-to-play MMO Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is getting into the Halloween spirit by redecorating Central City. Halloween decorations will be laid out across the area, with Region Mags equipping a pumpkin theme, and seasonal event navigator Xiemi donning a Halloween dress. The Haunted Domain II Urgent Quest is available to take on during the event, with further limited-time tasks to be added. Haunted Domain II reworks the fields, adding aberrant mutants weak to elemental effects. In addition, Reaper Rappy, Trickertreat Emperappy, and Trickertreat Great Rappy will be found haunting the field. Head to Xiemi’s seasonal points exchange shop to pick up Matsutake Mushrooms and the 11-star rarity Exelio weapon series.
Phasmophobia - Blood Moon

During Phasmophobia's Halloween Blood Moon event, the game's developers have challenged players to achieve three community goals. The Blood Moon has risen in four of the game's haunted locales, marked by red circles on the map board. Head to each and attempt to identify the ghost while completing optional objectives. Be sure to search carefully, as each map contains a mysterious totem you'll need to photograph. Each success contributes to the community score, working towards unlocks including a trophy and Blood Moon weather as a permanent option. Take heed, though, as the Blood Moon causes ghosts to be extra aggressive! Further details can be found here.
Pikmin Bloom - Halloween Light Decor Pikmin

Pumpkins and Pikmin make the perfect combination this spooky season in Pikmin Bloom. Seedlings for Halloween Light Decor Pikmin can be obtained by completing a series of event challenges including walking distances, growing Pikmin, completing expeditions, planting flowers, and destroying mushrooms. Each mission completed rewards Ghostly Matchsticks, Halloween Light Decor Pikmin seedlings, flower petals, or other items. There are seven types of Halloween Light Decor Pikmin to collect, including ones styled on Jack-o’-lanterns, treats, and lights.
In addition, the Premium Event Pass includes bonus rewards including extra seasonal nectar, Gold Seedlings, and Goth-style Mii costumes. Destroy Halloween Mushrooms during the event period to obtain Mystery Boxes. Halloween Decor Pikmin are the strongest against these nefarious mushrooms, so be sure to set them to the task. Rainbow Six Siege - Doktor’s Curse

Rainbow Six Siege's Halloween event returns for its fifth iteration in 2024. Doktor's Curse is a limited-time mode in which Hunters (attackers) must track down and slay Monsters (defenders) who can hide throughout a Frankenstein's Castle adaptation of the Theme Park map. It's hide and seek, Siege style. Both sides have access to a selection of fiendish traps and powers to help them isolate or evade the other. New skins available to buy or unlock this year include Deimos and Zofia as Hunters, and Fenrir as a Monster. Full details here.
