As the Lego Fortnite universe continues to grow with user-created islands and more, Epic Games has announced a rename for the base Lego Fortnite experience to distinguish it from other Lego content.
With the launch of the Storm Chasers update on December 10, 2024, the base game of Lego Fortnite will be renamed to Lego Fortnite Odyssey.
The Storm Chasers update introduces a new villain for players to defeat: the Storm King. Players will be able to complete tasks for the Storm Chasers who live in Storm Chaser Village, as well as explore Storm Dungeons found inside large storm systems that will appear at random locations in the in-game world. Along the way, they’ll need to watch out for the Storm King’s minions, including Raven.
Major gameplay improvements and changes are also featured in the Storm Chasers update. For one, enemy difficulty will no longer be biome specific, so players will be free to explore any region without fear of running into overpowered foes. Component-based crafting will also be introduced, allowing players to choose the materials they’d like to use to craft tools and weapons. Epic said: “the quality of the materials [players] decide to use when crafting will affect the attributes and rarity of the end result.”
