EA shared an in-depth look at some of the major updates and additions players can expect to see in Madden NFL 25.

Ahead of the launch of Madden NFL 25 on August 16, EA Sports unveiled the many new features and upgrades that await players in the game’s Franchise Mode.

In EA’s latest Gridiron Notes, Josh Looman, lead designer on the game’s Franchise Mode, said this year’s game focuses on three core pillars: “Immersion,” “Customization,” and “Depth and Core Improvements.”

To give players an immersive gameplay experience, more than 70 new “Dynamic Storylines” will be available in Madden NFL 25, which allow players to make decisions that shape their athletes’ personalities. Team members will remember what players say (and the promises they make), with these storylines having the potential to play out over an entire season.

Looman offered an example of one of these Dynamic Storylines:

“In one of our storylines, you’ll have a player who shows up to training camp out of shape. How you react and the choices you make will have a different impact based on your player’s personality type. Push the right buttons? You’ll motivate him to play better than he normally would for the first three weeks of the season. Say the wrong thing and he’ll start the year out of shape.”

The game’s Breakout Storylines have also been updated for this year’s installment with the goal of giving the feature “more variety, freedom, and more risk and reward.” When a Breakout Storyline appears in Franchise Mode, it will feature different paths and potential outcomes, with negative outcomes being a possibility.

A new feature in Madden NFL 25, NFL Draft Night will allow players to experience the NFL Draft as they keep track of data on a Draft Board that updates in real time. When players make a selection, their pick will walk across the stage or answer the call from home. A new prospect board was also designed to make the process of drafting players more intuitive.

Franchise Central also joins the game this year, giving players “a new home base” for the game’s Franchise Mode.

Looman said: “Franchise Central will deliver key information at your fingertips. You’ll see info on your matchup and insights into your opponent, focused on stats and top players for both teams. After the season and during bye weeks, you’ll get information about your team’s rankings and needs, as well as draft prospects in the positions you need most. You’ll see your standings in the conference, the top players around the league, and be able to track your goals.”

Finally, Madden NFL 25 players will be able to create their dream teams on EA’s Team Builder website, which will allow them to create and upload their own team logos, customize their team’s uniforms, helmets, and other elements, and build their own roster. Up to 32 Team Builder teams can be imported into a franchise in Madden NFL 25.
