The Bundles of Bravery content drop was also revealed.

In its recent Minecraft Live presentation, developer Mojang showed off new features coming to the sandbox game in the coming months.

Minecraft’s next content drop will be called Bundles of Bravery. It will bring Hardcore mode to Minecraft’s Bedrock edition and the Bundle item to both Bedrock and Java.

Hardcore mode (which was already available on Java) gives players a single life and allows them to play in the same world until they eventually die. Whenever they die, it’s game over, as they can’t respawn. As the name implies, Hardcore mode adds way more challenge (and stress) to the traditional Minecraft experience, as players need to watch out for enemies and hazards much more closely than normal (or risk losing everything they’ve built and collected).

Bundles, meanwhile, allow players to store multiple items in a “bag” that takes up a single space in their inventory. A Bundle can hold multiple kinds of items up to a limit of 64 individual units. For instance, if players are mining and come across just a few units of redstone and gold, they could place both in the Bundle to free up two inventory spaces while still having room left in the Bundle to store more items. Bundles can be dyed different colors, and they can also be exchanged between players with their items still inside.

While the Bundles of Bravery drop is exciting, arguably the biggest news from Minecraft Live was the reveal of a new biome, the Pale Garden, and its terrifying resident, The Creaking.

The Pale Garden is a forested biome full of Pale Oak Trees covered in Pale Hanging Moss. Players can chop these trees down to collect their wood, which can be used to craft a variety of white wooden items, like fencing and planks, among others. While the Pale Garden biome appears peaceful during the day, when night falls, a new hostile mob called The Creaking appears.

The Creaking looks like a tree with three glowing amber eyes. If players look at it, it won’t move. But when they turn around, The Creaking can move and even attack them. The Creaking can’t be damaged directly. Instead, when players hit The Creaking, small pixels will fly away from the creature guiding them toward a new item called the “Creaking Heart,” which will be found nearby in the Pale Garden forest. Players can either destroy the Creaking Heart to kill the creature or use Silk Touch to pick up the Heart, allowing them to put it down somewhere else in the world.

Both of these content drops will be added to Minecraft in the coming months.
