Players can explore the eerie Pale Garden biome, home of a new hostile mob called the Creaking.

During Minecraft Live in September 2024, Minecraft developer, Mojang, revealed The Pale Garden, a spooky new biome in the massively popular sandbox game that’s home to an equally spooky new mob: the Creaking.

Now, players can experience everything the Pale Garden and its associated content drop have to offer, as The Garden Awakens update is now available for Minecraft Bedrock and Java Editions.

The Pale Garden biome is full of new resources, like pale oak trees, pale moss carpet, and Eyeblossoms flowers (which only bloom at night). Pale oak wood can be turned into a slew of new craftable items, like stairs and bricks, while Eyeblossoms can be used to make dye.

While the Pale Garden biome is quiet during the day, once night falls, the hostile Creaking will begin appearing. If players look at this creature, it won’t move. However, once players look away, the Creaking will begin moving and may attack them if it gets too close.

The Creaking can’t be damaged directly. Instead, when players hit the creature, small pixels will fly away from it guiding them toward a new block – the Creaking Heart – which will be found nearby in the Pale Garden biome. It’s only once this item is destroyed that the Creaking will also be killed. Alternatively, players can collect the Creaking Heart with a Silk Touch tool, allowing them to spawn the Creaking wherever they’d like in their world.
