Dress to Impress is one of the hottest games on Roblox, having amassed over 3.2 billion visits on the platform since launch. It comes as no surprise, then, that other developers would create their own experiences to capitalize on the fashion game’s popularity.
One such developer, Supersocial, looks to compete with Dress to Impress with Modelverse, its new Roblox game created in partnership with supermodel and television personality Heidi Klum.
Similar to Dress to Impress, in each round, Modelverse gives players a limited amount of time to dress their avatar in clothing and accessories matching a theme, like “Night Out” or “Gamer.” Players can browse a full catalog of customization options, ranging from shirts and pants to skin colors and makeup looks. At the end of each round, the competitors’ avatars will walk the runway and the other players can rate their looks from one to five hearts to determine the round’s winner.
As rounds progress, players are taken to different in-game environments mimicking real-world locations, like award shows and fashion events. The game is launching with a focus on Halloween and the fall season, and will feature themed locales inspired by the holiday and Oktoberfest, as well as Halloween-themed fashion and accessory items.
Rounding out the Modelverse experience, players can purchase their favorite fashion items with Robux, as well as spend Robux on game upgrades, like one that allows them to walk faster and another that increases the maximum number of accessories they can wear at one time.
