Following its 3DS release way back in 2016 (and a launch on mobile devices a year later), Monster Hunter Stories is making its way to new platforms through a full remake for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC.
Monster Hunter Stories is a turn-based role-playing game that allows players to become a Rider and befriend monsters - here called “Monsties” - as they explore a colorful (and adorable) in-game world.
For the remake, the game has received improved graphics and lighting, as well as full Japanese and English voiceovers. The remake also features additional language support for Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, and Polish.
In terms of additional content, players can expect to see everything that was originally added to the 3DS version through post-launch updates, including additional monsters (Teostra, Kushala Daora, and Rajang), the Tower of Illusion, and more.
Finally, the Monster Hunter Stories remake features a new Museum Mode, allowing players to listen to the game’s background music and view developer artwork.
Monster Hunter Stories hits PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC June 14. Its sequel, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, will hit PS4 the same day, following its original release on Switch and PC in 2021.
Niantic’s Monster Hunter Now mobile game will celebrate the launch of Monster Hunter Stories this summer with a themed quest line allowing players to earn limited edition Hunter Medals and layered outfits in the free-to-play mobile game.
