Pokemon Go August 2024 Spotlight Hour Event Guide
Four different pocket monsters will be featured during weekly events in August.

There are four Tuesdays in August 2024, which means four different Spotlight Hour events will take place in Pokemon Go during the month. Each event will feature a different Pokemon that will appear more frequently for one hour, as well as a handy in-game bonus.
Here’s the full calendar of Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour events for August 2024.
August 6, 2024 - Drilbur
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Catch XP
- Can it be Shiny? Yes

We recommend activating a Lucky Egg during this event to double the number of experience points you’ll receive for completing in-game actions for a limited time. The Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, letting you earn tons of XP if you play during the entire event.
August 13, 2024 - Lileep
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Catch Candy
- Can it be Shiny? Yes

Remember that you can toss Pinap Berries at Pokemon to double the number of Pokemon Candy you receive when you catch them. This Pinap Berry bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, giving you the chance to collect lots of Lileep Candy during this event (if you have plenty of Pinap Berries on hand, that is).
August 20, 2024 - Mankey
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Transfer Candy
- Can it be Shiny? Yes

If you have the Pokemon storage space to spare, you may want to hold on to some extra pocket monsters in preparation for this event, especially if you need more Candy for certain species. That way, you can transfer them during this event to pick up some extra Candy. Every little bit helps!
August 27, 2024 - Magnemite
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Evolution XP
- Can it be Shiny? Yes

Even if you don’t care about catching extra Magnemite during this event, you can still earn plenty of experience points if you activate a Lucky Egg and spend the hour evolving Pokemon.
