Pokemon Go Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day Event Details
A Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day event is coming soon to Pokemon Go. Here’s everything you need to know about it!
Event date and time
The Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day event will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
Event features
Gigantamax Lapras will appear in six-star Max Battles during this event. If players defeat this powerful opponent, they’ll have the chance to catch Lapras, and it will be possible for Lapras to be Shiny.

Event bonuses
A number of in-game bonuses will be active during this Max Battle Day event:
- Every Power Spot will host Gigantamax Battles.
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently than normal.
- The Max Particle collection limit will be increased to 1,600.
- Players will be able to collect 8x the normal number of Max Particles from Power Spots.
Two additional bonuses will be active from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time on December 8, 2024:
- Players will receive 2x the normal number of Max Particles from moving.
- Players will only have to move 1/4 of the normal distance to receive Max Particles.
New item: Max Mushrooms
This event will add Max Mushrooms to Pokemon Go. This consumable item will cause a player’s Pokemon to deal double damage when fighting in Max Battles until the item’s timer runs out. Players will have the option to use multiple Max Mushrooms to increase the duration of the timer, but using more than one of these items will not further increase the damage multiplier.
Premium event ticket
Players will have the option to spend $5 on a ticket that will give them access to Timed Research tasks and additional in-game bonuses during this event.
The Timed Research will reward players with one Max Mushroom and 25,000 XP. The bonuses, meanwhile, are as follows:
- 2x XP from Max Battles
- An increased Max Particle collection limit of 5,600
Double Feature Ticket Box
For this event, a Double Feature Ticket Box will be available on the Pokemon Go Web Store for $6.99. This box will include the Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day event ticket and the Aspiring Dragons Research Day Timed Research ticket. The box will also contain a Max Particle Pack.
