The spookiest day of the year is nearly upon us, and developer Niantic is bringing a two-part Halloween event to Pokemon Go to celebrate.

The first part of this year’s Pokemon Go Halloween festivities will kick off on October 22, 2024. Here’s what you need to know about this event.

Event date and time

The Halloween 2024 Part 1 event will run from Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time until Monday, October 28, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time.

New Pokemon added with this event

Once the Halloween 2024 Part 1 event kicks off, Morpeko, Dynamax Gastly, Froakie wearing a Pokemon Halloween costume, and Rowlet wearing a Pokemon Halloween costume will become available to collect in Pokemon Go.

Morpeko has two forms: Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode, and it will change between these forms each time its Charged Attack is used during a battle. Niantic said: “Initially, Morpeko will only be able to change forms when battling Team GO Rocket or in the GO Battle League.”

While in Full Belly Mode, Morpeko will know the Aura Wheel (Electric) charged attack, while in Hangry Mode, it will know the Aura Wheel (Dark) charged attack.
