Five Spotlight Hour events are coming to Pokemon Go in July 2024, each featuring increased appearances by one or more Pokemon and a helpful in-game bonus that will only be active for one hour.

Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect from each Spotlight Hour event this month.

July 2, 2024 - Pikachu wearing a cake hat

  • Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
  • Featured Bonus: 2x Catch XP
  • Can it be Shiny? Yes

We recommend activating a Lucky Egg during this event to double the number of experience points you receive for completing in-game actions for a limited time. The Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of experience points if you dedicate the entire hour to catching Pokemon.

For reference, Pikachu wearing a cake hat can’t be evolved as of this writing.

July 9, 2024 - Spheal

  • Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
  • Featured Bonus: 2x Catch Candy
  • Can it be Shiny? Yes

Spheal has two evolutions: Sealeo (25 Spheal Candy) and Walrein (100 Spheal Candy). This means you’ll need to collect three Shiny Spheal if you want the entire Shiny family.

We recommend using Pinap Berries when catching Pokemon during this event. The candy bonus they provide will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn even more Pokemon Candy for each creature you catch during this event.

July 16, 2024 - Binacle

  • Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
  • Featured Bonus: 2x Transfer Candy
  • Can it be Shiny? Yes

Binacle can be evolved into Barbaracle using 50 Binacle Candy, so you’ll need two Shiny Binacle if you want to add the entire Shiny family to your collection.

July 23, 2024 - Diglett and Alolan Diglett

  • Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
  • Featured Bonus: 2x Evolution XP
  • Can they be Shiny? Yes

Diglett and Alolan Diglett can be evolved into their respective versions of Dugtrio using 50 Diglett Candy each. Since both Diglett variants can be Shiny, you’ll need to find two of each to add the entire Shiny Diglett family to your collection.

July 30 - Togedemaru

  • Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
  • Featured Bonus: 2x Catch Stardust
  • Can it be Shiny? Yes

You can activate a Star Piece during this event to earn 50% more Stardust for a limited time. This effect will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, giving you the chance to stock up on tons of Stardust if you focus on catching as many Pokemon as possible for the full 60 minutes.

Togedemaru can’t be evolved.
