A quick Magnetic Study event is coming soon to Pokemon Go. While it won’t last long, the event will pack quite a punch, giving players an increased chance to encounter three Shiny Pokemon for a very limited time.

Here’s what’s happening during the Magnetic Study event in Pokemon Go!

Event date and time

The Magnetic Study event will run from Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 12 a.m. local time until Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. local time.

Overall event bonuses

Two bonuses will be active throughout the Magnetic Study event:

  • Players will have an increased chance to encounter Shiny Magnemite, Shiny Plusle, and Shiny Minun.
  • Magnetic Lure Modules activated at PokeStops will be more likely to attract event-themed Pokemon.

Daily event bonuses

A different daily bonus will be active from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time each day during the Magnetic Study event. Here’s the full breakdown:

  • October 15: 2x catch XP
  • October 16: 50% more experience points from Raids
  • October 17: 2x catch Stardust

Daily Timed Research

Timed Research tasks will be given to players each day during the Magnetic Study event. Here are the rewards players will receive if they complete this Timed Research before time runs out:

October 15, 2024

  • Encounters with Plusle
  • 5,000 XP
  • 2,500 Stardust

October 16, 2024

  • Encounters with Magnemite
  • A Magnetic Lure Module

October 17, 2024

  • Encounters with Minun
  • 5,000 XP
  • 2,500 Stardust

Plusle, Magnemite, and Minun encountered through these Timed Research tasks will have the chance to be Shiny.

Field Research Tasks

Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during the Magnetic Study event to receive encounters with Magnemite, Plusle, and Minun. All three Pokemon will have the chance to be Shiny.
