Pokemon Go October 2024 Spotlight Hour Event Guide
October is almost here, and that means there are plenty of new Spotlight Hour events to look forward to in Pokemon Go. Each Spotlight Hour event will see one or more Pokemon appear more frequently in the wild for a limited time while an in-game bonus is also in effect.
Here’s a look at the five Spotlight Hour events scheduled to take place in October 2024.
October 1, 2024 - Pidove
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Transfer Candy
- Can it be Shiny? Yes

October 8, 2024 - Galarian Slowpoke
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Evolution XP
- Can it be Shiny? Yes

If you plan on taking advantage of the evolution XP bonus during this event, we recommend activating a Lucky Egg as well. This will double the number of experience points you receive for completing in-game actions for a limited time, and this bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus.
October 15, 2024 - Shroomish
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Catch Stardust
- Can it be Shiny? Yes

Remember that you can activate a Star Piece during this event to earn 50% more Stardust for a limited time. This Star Piece bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to stock up on tons of Stardust during this event!
October 22, 2024 - Gastly, Duskull, and Litwick
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Catch XP
- Can they be Shiny? Yes

We recommend activating a Lucky Egg during this event to capitalize on the 2x catch XP bonus. The Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, so you can earn tons of XP if you catch Pokemon throughout the entire event.
October 29, 2024 - Unannounced Pokemon
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time
- Featured Bonus: 2x Catch Candy
- Can it be Shiny? Unknown
While the featured Pokemon for this week’s event is still under wraps, you may want to stock up on Pinap Berries before the event begins. You can toss these Berries at Pokemon to double the number of Pokemon Candy you receive when you catch them, and this bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus. Sweet!
