Players must complete three different Pokedexes before they can claim the prize.

A major update has launched for the mobile version of Pokemon Home, part of the cloud storage platform that allows players to save their Pokemon in the cloud and move them between supported games (like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet).

The version 3.2.2. update adds a Pokemon Guidebook to the mobile version of Pokemon Home, allowing players to view information about every Pokemon currently in existence, even if they haven’t collected them. This includes highlighting the games where each Pokemon can currently be found and captured, which may help players fill in blank spots in their collections.

The latest Pokemon Home update also gives players the chance to collect Shiny Meloetta once they complete the Paldea Pokedex, Kitakami Pokedex, and Blueberry Pokedex in Pokemon Scarlet and/or Violet. Once these Pokedexes are completed, players can claim Shiny Meloetta via the Mystery Gift menu in the mobile version of Pokemon Home.

While this Shiny Meloetta giveaway is quite exciting, it also comes with a catch, as it appears the Pokemon Home app will only count a Pokedex as being “completed” if players have imported every Pokemon in the Pokedex from the game in question. That is, if you already have a Pokemon like Sunkern in your Pokemon Home collection, but that Sunkern didn’t come from Pokemon Scarlet or Violet, it won’t count as part of your Paldea Pokedex completion.

The good news? There doesn’t appear to be a time limit for this promotion, so players shouldn’t have to rush to collect this Shiny prize.
