Roblox debuted a new Party feature to make playing games with friends across the platform an easier process.

Now rolling out within Roblox on desktop, iOS and Android, Party allows up to six Roblox users to join a group, or party, and jump into the same Roblox experiences together. This feature was designed to eliminate the need for Roblox users to leave the platform to coordinate their gaming sessions with friends.

For Roblox users 13 and up, Party also offers a text chat feature. Roblox said support for voice chat will be added “in the coming months.” Any chatting done within the Party feature will be monitored to ensure it complies with the platform’s Community Standards.

While Roblox’s Party feature is available to everyone on the platform, parents and caregivers will have final say over how their kids interact with the feature. Party access can be restricted entirely or limited to only one-on-one, rather than group, interactions.

On its website, Roblox shared step-by-step instructions for starting a Party:

  1. “Open the Roblox app and go to the Party tab.
  2. Click the + button to add friends to your new group.
  3. Click the Join icon in the top right to start the Party with your friends.
  4. Pick a fun game or experience for the group to play together.
  5. Invite others in the group to join the game.”
