SpongeBob SquarePants has starred in a number of video games over the years, and while his best buddy Patrick normally makes an appearance in each outing, the lovable pink starfish has always been secondary to the talking sponge… until now.

Later this year, publisher Outright Games will release SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game, a single-player sandbox experience that will take players to Bikini Bottom and let them complete missions as Patrick Star. Players will be able to interact with SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, and Plankton, and visit a variety of locations from the animated series, including Glove World, The Dump, and the Demolition Derby.

As players complete tasks, they’ll collect jars of mayonnaise and can unlock new outfits for Patrick. The game will feature Easter Eggs from the television series, as well as voice acting from the series’ stars, including Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, and Rodger Bumpass as Squidward.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game will be released on Switch, PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, and PC through Steam on October 4, 2024.
