The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be released on Switch on September 26, 2024. Ahead of the game’s launch, Nintendo released a new trailer showing off some of the unique abilities Zelda will have access to on her quest to save the kingdom of Hyrule.

In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, players will become Zelda, rather than Link, who is challenged to save Hyrule after rifts begin appearing around the kingdom. Aided by a friendly creature named Tri, Zelda will use a Tri Rod to interact with objects and monsters in the in-game world.

Players will be able to create “echoes” of objects they find in the environment, like wooden boxes and beds. Once they save an echo, they’ll be able to summon the item into the world at a later time. This may help them solve puzzles and navigate the world. Not limited to inanimate objects, players will also be able to create echoes of Zelda’s enemies, with these echoes becoming allies who can help her in future battles.

The game’s latest trailer showed off two additional abilities Zelda will have up her sleeve: Bind and Reverse Bond. Bind will allow players to create a link between Zelda and an in-game object or enemy, which will then move as Zelda moves. Reverse Bond, meanwhile, will let players create a link between Zelda and moving objects, allowing Zelda to automatically follow the object’s movement. For instance, players may be able to connect Zelda to a moving platform in order to cross a large gap in the path.

Zelda’s adventure will take her to various regions throughout Hyrule, from the Gerudo Desert to the Faron Wetlands and beyond. Players will be encouraged to complete a series of side quests as they progress in order to earn helpful rewards.

Since Hyrule is such a large kingdom, players will be able to quickly fast travel between waypoints scattered around the map after they discover them. Plus, they’ll be able to ride a horse that can jump over small obstacles, like fences and ledges.

As players explore Hyrule, they’ll be able to collect a variety of ingredients that can be combined into smoothies, with each smoothie having different effects determined by its ingredients. Zelda will also have access to different outfits and accessories, like one that will increase her swimming speed.
