In a new overview video, Nintendo revealed interesting new details about The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which hits Switch later this year.
In Echoes of Wisdom, players will help Princess Zelda save Link, the King of Hyrule, and the kingdom itself from mysterious rifts that have appeared throughout the land. Zelda will be able to create “echoes,” or copies, of items and enemies she encounters on her journey, which can help her solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and more.
In the new gameplay video, fans were introduced to the Still World, the area that lies beyond the rifts. Here, all of the people, trees, and other objects that have been consumed by the rifts float in a void-like space. The Still World is also home to dungeons for players to explore, complete with bosses to defeat.
While Zelda will primarily use echoes to defeat enemies (including bosses), she’ll also be able to temporarily transform into a swordfighter form to attack enemies directly. Players will only be able to remain in this form for a short time, until the form’s power gauge runs out. Energy can be collected in the Still World to refill the gauge.
As players explore Hyrule, they’ll meet a variety of helpful characters, including Dampe, who creates automatons for Zelda to use on her journey. These automatons have different abilities, like one that explodes to damage nearby enemies.
