Catch up on all of the news from the recent Xbox Partner Preview presentation.

The Xbox Partner Preview for October 2024 saw reveal trailers drop for new games like FBC: Firebeak and Chronos: The New Dawn. We were also treated to welcome updates on titles we cant wait to get on our screens like Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. On top of that, there were even a couple of surprise releases like FPS-in-the-dark, Blindfire! What a treat. You can find all the Xbox Partner Preview trailers and announcements below before you get started on those already available.

Alan Wake 2: Lakehouse

First up was a trailer for Alan Wake 2’s: The Lake House. It teased the heavier horror focus of the expansion, which promises to tie the series more closely to Control’s universe.

Cronos: The New Dawn

A bit of a mystery next with the announcement of Cronos: The New Dawn, a new sci-fi survival horror game from Bloober Team. After an enigmatic trailer featuring sci-fi horror mixed with a chess game, we saw a teensy little bit of gameplay for this creepy third-person shooter. It looks to feature some unpleasant body horror featuring enemies melded from many bodies.

Blindfire

When firefights take place in near pitch black, gunshots are your biggest source of light, and your biggest giveaway. Blindfire is a multiplayer shooter in which up to eight players hunt one another in shadowy environments. Those who fall early get access to night vision cameras and can trigger traps on the remaining contestants. It’s in early access now.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Next was a trailer detailing more of the mechanics for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. A game that looks to be every bit as ridiculous as the name might suggest. This new trailer focused on naval combat, with Majima and his crew taking on rivals from Madlantis.

Mouse P.I. For Hire

1930s cartoons come to life in this first-person shooter. It stars a detective mouse in a seedy noir setting. Don’t let the cartoon glazing fool you, Mouse P.I. For Hire is surprisingly violent. We’re big fans of the large alligator boss named Vic Gatore who wields a gattling gun.

Subnautica 2

Next in the Xbox Partner Preview we took a dive (sorry) into Subnautica 2 with a short CG teaser trailer for the new undersea planet of the sequel. It’ll support co-op, which is lovely! But it’ll also feature plenty of ominous undersea behemoths, which is terrifying!

Animal Well

Sublime metroidvania Animal Well has now arrived on Xbox. Go play it!

Edens Zero

Hiro Mashima's manga gets the action-RPG treatment courtesy of Konami next year. Edens Zero has anime action in a fantasy and sci-fi setting. It'll no doubt appeal to fans of prior Fairy Tail video game adaptations.

Eternal Strands

Arriving early next year, Eternal Strands is a fantasy action game about blending magic types to take down towering enemy bosses. Frost, flame, and kinetic magic can be mixed as you hack at, clamber up, and tear apart mighty foes in a fantasy land.

Mistfall Hunter

Wish extraction shooters featured less, well, shooting? Mistfall Hunter brings PvPvE action to a Nordic fantasy setting. It promises to mix extraction gameplay with soulslike action as you attempt to fight monsters, secure loot, and escape other players.

Wheel World

Re-announced during the Xbox Partner Preview, Wheel World is a rather delightful looking open-world bicycle game in which you customize your bike and cycle along with a mysterious ghostly skull friend. Sounds wheelie enjoyable to us.

Phasmophobia

The immensely popular co-op ghost-hunting game is finally coming to Xbox on October 29. Grab your gear, head into the dark, and attempt to identify which malevolent spirit is stalking the kitchen before it chokes you all to death. A standard day in the paranormal office, really.

The Legend of Baboo

This new action-adventure game lets you team up with a large fluffy dog as you journey through magical lands. More games need large fluffy dogs, if you ask us. The Legend of Baboo is set to release in 2025.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Haven’t yet had your fill of brutal boss fights? Here’s another look at Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, which features beautiful acrobatic combat imbued with elemental powers. You’ll need them to take on the many foes – both human and monster – shown off in this trailer.

FBC: Firebreak

Finally, the Xbox Partner Preview concluded by revealing FBC: Firebreak – a new, three-player co-op game from Remedy Entertainment set in the same universe as Control. It's Remedy's first multiplayer game and looks like Left 4 Dead set in the shifting, bizarre, and often comical Bureau of Control. Yes please!

That's every trailer from the Xbox Partner Preview, but if you're still keen for more to occupy you this month, check out these new horror games to play on your Halloween game nights! Spooks and scares are guaranteed.
